When all else fails – Boot Camp!
Getting started is the hardest part. As human beings, we procrastinate, we avoid, we put off, and make excuses. Instead of getting things done, our dialogue goes, “I’m thinking about _____(you fill in the blank),” or “I’m going to ______.”
Here are the things we LOVE to procrastinate:
- Exercise
- Bookkeeping and managing money
- Organizing the office/home
- Eating healthy
- Making big changes
- Starting big projects
- Uncomfortable situations that could lead to conflict or pain
Chances are, you’ve thought about starting or you’ve tried to start but it didn’t stick.
Do you have something in your business or life that you’ve been putting off? When all else fails to get you going, you know you need more focus, discipline and determination. Enter, the Boot Camp.
Just like the military basic training, the Boot Camp is structured, rigid, and short-term. It can be a week, two weeks, or a month long – you decide. During Boot Camp, the focus of your life will be this one project.
For example:
- If you’ve been putting off exercise, you can sign-up for or create your own 30-day Boot Camp to jump start your fitness.
- If you’ve been avoiding your finances, start a two week boot camp to work with your bookkeeper, accountant, and financial planner to take a honest look at what’s there and make a plan.
- If you know you have an accumulation of various uncomfortable situations that you need to face, take a week to make those phone calls, write those emails, and address them head on.
Now is the time. Procrastination keeps you trapped, and your Boot Camp is about breaking down those barriers, so you can up-level your business, up-level your life. It’s the ticket to freedom.
