Recharge!

Stress, exhaustion, burn-out…  Know the feeling?  You’re probably also familiar with that desperate feeling of needing some serious R&R – you dream about a month vacay, soaking up sunrays by the turquoise waters in Tahiti.  But who’s got that kind of time when you’re already feeling so far behind?

 

When even a long weekend feels overwhelming, what you need are quick, easy ways to recharge your batteries.  Here are some of my favorite ways to bring back sanity into your day by calming your mind and fueling your soul.  The best part?  You can do these in 15 minutes or less!

 

1. Brighten your environment.  In fifteen minutes you can clear off and organize your desk, put up some new art on your walls (or move them around), clean your light fixtures and windows, or get some fresh flowers to brighten up your office.

 

2. Walk or dance!  Get your headphones, queue up your favorite playlist and get off that booty.  Go for a brisk walk or shake your booty, get your heart rate up, and jam out.

 

3. Groom.  When life gets busy, self-care tends to fall to the back burner.  A fresh coat of nail polish, or going in for the much belated wax appointment can make you feel SO much better.  Men – this applies to you too.  Every man needs a little manscaping now and again.

 

4. Power email.  Set your timer and power through you email inbox.  Just seeing those emails go down will make your blood pressure go down.

 

5. Make a list.  My personal favorite way to give your brain a break.  Write down your list of things that need to be done, phone calls that need to be made, and errands that need to be run.  You’ll not only feel immediately lighter, you’ll get more of it done in less time.
