Ask yourself this question everyday
The art of journaling changed for me when I started answering targeted questions, rather than going on random rants. There is one question that I have found that has had the biggest positive impact on my life.
Here are just a few things I’ve gleaned from this question:
- Take more pictures with friends and family
- Apologize more
- Reach out to a friend
- Have more healthy snacks on hand
- Stretch between sessions
- Set intentions for all meetings
These are just a handful of small, incremental improvements that I have made as a result of this one question.
This question, or rather your answer to it, holds the power to dramatically change your life trajectory, one day at a time. Here it is:
What could I have done better today?
So simple! Take the time to reflect on your day and identify one area where you can improve. This is not about getting down on yourself or beating yourself up. It is about setting a challenge for yourself tomorrow and committing to continual growth. It’s my hope that you enjoy the process. As you take on the challenge the next day, you’ll feel great!
As you can see from my examples above, this isn’t about dramatic commitments like climbing Mt. Everest, but small continuous improvements that you can make that, over time, add up to a big deal.
