Daily Intentions
Setting daily intentions has been a practice I’ve done for many years. It serves as a guiding post for how I would like to BE each day. Intentions are different from tasks or goals. They don’t have a clear finish line and focus more on state of mind and behaviors. They inspire and set the mood for your day.
My intentions are often inspired through business and personal development books and inspirational quotes. They also come from simply tuning-in and connecting with my inner-guide to hear her message. (Sometimes this looks like meditation or journaling.) Inspired intentions can also be found in people you admire and their character.
Below are some examples of intentions I set. What are you currently working to improve? What would make you happy? These are great questions to ask when coming up with your own intentions.
- Better done than perfect
- Notice my upper limiting behaviors (I’m currently reading The Big Leap by Gay Hendricks)
- Ruthlessly eliminate distractions and practice single-tasking
- Eat nourishing foods and prioritize self-care
- Live in gratitude

Write your intention along side your to-do list in the morning to remind you of your intention throughout the day. Your intentions hold the power to be your best each and every day. When days are hectic or I’m being frantic, I find the reminder gently grounds me back to how I would like to BE.
